PCSO and Florence Baptist Church Send Supplies to Wallow Fire Victims

Last week, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office sent 19 members to patrol areas which have been evacuated as a result of the Wallow Fire to ensure nobody is left behind and individual’s homes and property are secured.

Our members brought with them nearly 70 cases of water and soda which were donated by the Florence Baptist Church. Members distributed the donated supplies to the Wallow fire victims. Inmates from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center volunteered to help load the drinks in vehicles for their transportation to eastern Arizona.

During this past week, citizens have contacted our office and asked where they could donate food and drinks for the firefighters on the front line fighting this massive fire and the victims who lost their homes.

Our Adult Detention Center and the Florence Baptist Church have agreed to accept donations from citizens and will ensure the supplies are taken on a weekly basis and delivered to the firefighters and victims of the Wallow fire.

Items can be dropped off in the lobby of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office – Adult Detention Center which is located at 971 Jason Lopez Circle, Building B, in Florence anytime between 8 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. or the Food Bank inside of the Florence Baptist Church, which is located at 30 Willow Street, Florence, anytime between 7 a.m. till 3 p.m. Any questions please contact Sandra Price at 520-858-5372 or email Sandra.price@pinalcountyaz.gov.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “We are proud to lend a hand to help fellow Arizonans by sending staff to help with security of the evacuated towns. We are asking for the public’s help in donating food and drinks to the firefighters and victims’ families so we can deliver these supplies during this time of need.
